MKC Motorsports is going to California to compete in nationals!

Cream Abstract Brush Stroke

Hi my name is Sam Ingersoll, owner of MKC Motorsports. My passions have always been tied to racing which led me to compete in various RC racing classes. Driving comes naturally to me, but the lack of creativity and rules that enforced expensive electronics and such discouraged me from racing. I quickly discovered that combat robotics fits me much better, where the sky is the limit for innovation. I have won several tournaments and have rapidly established myself as one of the top drivers to beat. Currently MKC Motorsports is offering the Basilisk kit, the perfect bridge for beginners to cross into combat robotics that is both highly competitive and easy to build and fix, while also being on the lower end of the cost spectrum.

Robot kit

The Basilisk is one of the most feared mythical creatures of all time. Starring into its yellow eyes will fell even the mightiest. MKC Motorsports is proud to present this beginner kit that is inspired by Kraken from Battlebots. Basilisk is as sturdy as a rock and will keep running through intense abuse. The base level kit starts at $320 which is very cheap for a complete kit: no hidden costs. The Basilisk uses a variety of electronics and parts, all of which are mass-produced and easy to buy: no random specialty parts that are impossible to replace. Many of the parts can be found on ItGressa robotics. If you are brand new to combat robotics, the only extra thing you will need is a lipo charger which costs about $30. The base kit comes with premium pre-soldered electronics and a pre-programmed controller so all you have to do is plug them together. The level of difficulty assembling is around that of a lego set and build time would be expected to be around an hour. The bot is designed to grow with you, while it is very competitive out of the box, there are many additional upgrades available and I will soon be releasing the Basilisk GT kit which will be more advanced and much more destructive. Basilisk will be able to be purchased on Etsy, search: Basilisk combat robot kit.

Robot roster

Cyber Wolf

Cyber Wolf is my first robot and probably the most iconic. It is a heavily modified Synthwave kit that has gone through several fazes of modifications to be what it is now. Cyber Wolf is fast, one of the fastest robots in antweight. In addition to being fast however it also packs a lethal punch that has caused opponents to forfeit matches. It has won a tournament and taken 2nd place, with a 13-5 record.

Fallout

Fallout is a modified Baby Nautiloid kit with an attitude. It is currently undefeated with wins over highly respected bots such as Recylops and Swoop. Fallout is quickly gaining a reputation as a terrifying bot capable of mass destruction. Its single tooth disc is perfect for breaking other weapons so Fallout is not afraid to charge head-on into the other bot

Basilisk

Inspired by Kraken, the Basilisk is a tough vertical with modular configurations. While Basilisk is designed as a kit for beginners, it still is very competitive and has its sights set on winning championships. Basilisk combines speed and reliability to make itself a formidable opponent.

Diamondback

Diamondback is a sorry excuse for a robot and is currently on the “pending retirement” list until more development can occur. Diamondback is pretty old and is comprised of recycled parts. Even though it may not be competitive it is still loved by fans and is the “Rusty” of Beetleweight.

Lycanthrope

Lycanthrope is a brand new Beetweight robot on the MKC roster. It has a terrifying beater bar drum and two high powered drive motors paired with a 4s 120c discharge battery for extremely high top speeds. Its debut is in May. This is one wolf you don’t want to fight!
